Sponsorship

Sponsorship has been a big part of Bar M Custom Tack right from the beginning. From supporting Cowboys and Cowgirls to continue working towards their goals and help them get down the road, helping junior and rookie riders reach their dreams and helping to provide them with opportunities, to sponsoring events. To me when you enter an event and there are fantastic prizes from sponsors, this encourages you to show up to the next one. You will put the work in to make sure you are in the running for a top spot next time and so on, and in turn, this continues to better the sport!

Tim Costello

This right here folks is our Bar M Cowboy the one and only Tim 'Cossie' Costello!

He proudly wears a Bar M on his shirts and is a converted Bar M Bronc Rein lover and user! The Bar M Bronc Rein was designed specifically around Tim's requests to sit tighter and is easier to hold when a bronc is really gettin' after it!

Tim has a superb list of achievements in the rodeo world including

  • 4 x Canadian Cowboys Association Finalist 2016-2019

  • 2016 Manitoba Finals Saddle Bronc Champion

  • 2018 Chinook Rodeo Association Finals Saddle Bronc Champion

  • New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association Open Saddle Bronc Champion

  • New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association Finals 2017-2021

Not only does Cossie boast all these achievements, he is also a stock contractor himself owning TC Bucking Horses and is also Vice President and Roughstock Director of the New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association! Bar M hopes to conitnue to support Cossie with TC Bucking Horses as he moves more towards being a stock contractor.

These are the kind of cowboys we need more of and Bar M Custom Tack likes to support!

Patrick McCarthy

This right here folks is our Bar M Cowboy- The Champion Patrick McCarthy!

I am very excited to be welcoming Patrick to the Bar M team this season - we could not find a cowboy who embodies the values of Grit and Grace more!

Patrick has an outstanding list of achievements in the rodeo world including:

  • New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association Open All Around Champion x 3

  • New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association Open Rope and Tie Champion x 12

  • New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association Open Team Roping Header Champion x 8

  • New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association Junior Calf Riding Champion x 2

Patrick has an incredible wealth of roping experience from throughout New Zealand, Australia and Canada and in recent years has been teaching roping clinics which have been a huge success! He dedicates his time to coaching people in roping aswell as being part of the local rodeo club (having been president for several years). Patrick has the winning attitude to get the job done in the arena, and he is a fantastic role model to every roper in New Zealand. These are the kind of cowboys we need more of and Bar M Custom Tack likes to support!

Lexi Brady

Here we have our first Bar M New Zealand Rookie Cowgirl, the legend Lexi Brady!

Lexi is a Rookie Barrel Racer competing in the NZRCA for her second upcoming season. The route that Lexi has taken to get here is not one that you would say is easy, and she has been told time and time again that it won't work - yet she still drives hard and we will hopefully see her claim the NZ Rookie Barrel Racing Champion Title in a short time! Her background begins with Pony Club, jumping, eventing and cross country having been known to say at one point in time "I will never be a barrel racer". She transitioned to western riding and had the opportunity to work under the amazing Horse Trainer - Brian McVicar. Specializing in Cowboy Challenge training, along with taking on problem horses and some colt starting, this has given Lexi a broad knowledge of how to get a horse very broke to do anything you ask of it. This has created a fantastic platform for Lexi to start barrel racing on. Lexi bred her grey mare 'Shadow' for jumping and eventing, however she has turned into a nice barrel horse.

Lexi's achievements include:

  • NZ Tough Rider Challenge 2018 Champion

  • Multiple placings up to 1.10m show jumping and open eventing

  • Multiple placings in Open Hunter Round The Ring

  • Placings in Canterbury Barrel Racing Jackpot Series

Lexi is a cowgirl who shows what Bar M is all about - she carries Grit and Grace both in and out of the arena. Her hard work is bound to pay off and we hope to be supporting Lexi throughout her rookie years and when she breaks open in the New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association. Make sure to follow along with Lexi's Journey on her Instagram page. These are the kind of cowgirls we need more of and Bar M Custom Tack likes to support!

Cade Cameron

This is our Bar M New Zealand Rookie Cowboy, the legend Cade Cameron!

Cade is a 15 year old cowboy that is relatively new to the rodeo world, with this being his second season competing. He had a successful debut season in the Novice Steer Ride and this year has graduated to the 2nd Division Bull Ride - I have never seen someone so keen and committed like this young fella. He is a humble, honest young man who works hard at everything he does and this definitely shows with his bull riding. With role models like JB Mauney, and New Zealand cowboys Patrick McCarthy and Andrew Dawson; and goals of winning himself a championship buckle and competing overseas, Cade has an incredibly bright future ahead of him in the sport of Rodeo! It will be just a matter of time until we see Cade standing up for the NZ Rodeo Cowboys Association Rookie Bull Riding Title!

Cade was selected to represent the South Island Team for bull riding in the North/South Rodeo Challenge in 2021. Keep your eyes on this young cowboy, he will sure be one to watch! Cade embodies everything that Bar M stands for and I am proud to support him in his endeavors!
